Clickbank Questions – Need honest opinion on promoting clickbank products?

Has anyone ever promoted clickbank products and made a little money? The reason I ask is because I was thinking about signing up as an affiliate. I am passionate about Alzheimer’s. There are a few really good ebooks on this subject, but would this be impossible to promote? I’m not expecting to get rich, but maybe a few hundred dollars extra would be nice. I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews about clickbank. Some say it was just a huge waste of time, others say they really like it. I have heard that when you do sign up with them, you need to get a domain name in order to cloak you clickbank link. Why? I would really appreciate an honest opinion. Would this be worth trying?

Best Answer: I thought and still think the ClickBank concept is really great. Except for the fact that they (from my experience) are not ethical. Do they break laws, not that I know of but here’s the problem.

We had a directory in which we sent thousands of visitors to related categories we chose to feature. Their methods of tracking reports are very vague making it difficult to track sales, and they make it very difficult to see what is going on with your account. Their payment policies are awful. They started deducting commissions from our account after a certain period of time – I forget what the reason was. Oh, and there is something about the refund policies as well. Sorry it’s been about 7 years since I did this. And I have been back this year to see if there were any improvements, still the same old stuff.

As far as asking you to set up your own domain, most likely because people don’t want to buy from clickbank for these reasons. The other may be because of SEO issues. The search engines may have those URLs blocked for repetition.

After 12 years online myself, here’s my suggestion. Try a couple of links ( it’s still free I think) then your best bet would be to compile your own information to present in a PDF format E-Book. Write it in Word, then use PDF Creator (free) to make a PDF and sell via PayPal ( nominal fee) on your site. Then you could and add your Ebook to other honorable sites that carry ebooks for sale.

Again, the concept is really great, it’s too bad they aren’t. Good luck with your site – more useful resources about this debilitating disease are needed.

  • Clickbank is a BIG player in Internet Marketing, while there are good products and people looking for them.

The challenge is to get traffic/people to your Clickbank products. ClickBank affiliate link is so easy to recognize that buyers will know how to “high-jack” your commission if you don’t cloak your link.

It is usually recommended or best to have your own website (domain name) to cloak you clickbank link. However, some website provides free service to convert your Clickbank link.

  • I absolutely believe there are massive profits for those promoting Clickbank profits. I’ve had days where I’ve generated over $1,000 in affiliate clickbank sales.

If you’re going to be promoting affiliate programs, I HIGHLY recommend Wealthy Affiliate. Two internet millionaires, Kyle and Carson, offer “one on one” mentoring from their ‘Wealthy Affiliate University’.

  • worth trying? – yes! – even if you fail with clickbank you will gain some experience in affiliate marketing and promoting stuff online while building your own contents, which later on may be channeled in more profitable ways.
  • Honestly – I’ve never heard of them. I am from the UK so it may be an American thing but have never heard of it over here.

Building backlinks is the only way to successfully promote clickbank or any other affiliated products, without higher search engine rankings and a steady flow of targeted visitors you simply will not get an idea if your sales page is working and therefore will not sell anything…
