Clickbank Questions – If someone is starting a store online, how much is the average fee for a credit card processor? Thank you?

April 3rd, 2010 No comments

I might have the wrong name. When I say card processor, I mean companies like Google checkout, 2Co, Clickbank, e.t.c., people who you need to process your customers credit cards. I think another name for them is merchant account.

I ask this question bcz I heard it can cost thousands just to set up, and yet I’ve heard it’s not that expensive. For example I saw Google is only $50 to set up then couple cents off each item sold. So I want to know is it thousands one time or not. Thanks.

Best Answer: True, it depends which service you take.
Try Charge
http://www.charge.com/banners/click.php?…
They offer lower rates and free services that other
companies charge for.
Google is also amongst the lesser expensive.
PayPal is another popular solution: https://www.paypal.com/us/mrb/pal=L7UGTG…

  • Go to your local SBA Small Business Association office and set up an appointment to see one of their knowledgeable people. They can probably help you more than anyone else around.
  • It really depends on what the merchant account provider is offering. It’s relatively cheap to start a merchant account. Some companies even have a no set-up fee policy. If that’s the case, you may want to look at transaction fees or discount fees. Find out also if they charge a monthly fee. Check out emerchantpay.com, they’re very upfront with their fees so it’ easy to deal with them. Plus, part of their package is providing a secure payment gateway.

Clickbank Questions – Just starting out in Affiliate Marketing, can anyone give some beginners advice (not just links?

March 28th, 2010 No comments

I have opened an account with ClickBank and I have downloaded the Affiliate Masters Course e-book as well as the SiteSell e-book. I am just looking for some helpful advice on how to get started and some tips on how to be successful with it.

I am not looking for any links on affiliate marketing–I’ve seen just about all of them. But if you have your own website or blog as an affiliate marketer, I would love to take a look at it to see first hand what it looks like.

I know that to be successful with this you have to put in a lot of time–this I have, I do not work or go to school, and I really want to be successful with this.

If anyone considers themself a mentor in this field, I would really appreciate your help!!!! Thanks.

Best Answer: Hi Kell – welcome to the world of affiliate marketing!

I spent many years doing affiliate marketing poorly so I’ll share some of my experiences.

(1.) Be sure you have a PROFESSIONAL looking website. I have a website sitting at http://www.xspirulina.com that I paid someone in Serbia $50 to do. The purpose of the site was to see if the product would sell and at what price. Well, about 50% of the people who got to the first page left. Why? I don’t know for sure but my guess is because it looks like I paid $50 for it.

(2.) Do some research on SEO or pay someone to do it. This is worth GOLD. If no one can find your site then you’re not going to sell any items.

(3.) Have a good understanding of Adwords before diving in. I spent a fortune on Adwords when I first started without much to show for it. Why? Because I had a rosey outlook for things like conversion rates.

(4.) Know that very few people make a fortune at this. If you work hard and long — 5 or 6 hours a week for a full year — you’ll start to see returns. I’m an affiliate with Overstock.com and my website http://www.eHalfOff.com (or the redesign I’m working on at http://www.eHalfOff.com/online-shopping) makes about $0.04 per visitor I bring to my site. I hope to double or triple that with my redesign.

(5.) Know how people are finding you. It took me the better part of a year to achieve a high ranking for the phrase: discount shopping for eHalfOff.com. Most of my customers find me using this phrase. However, in the past 90 days, customers have found my site using over 500 different keywords and phrases. I use this data to help me determine which words and phrases to target next. You never know when you’ll stumble across a word or phrase that works well.

Good luck to you!

Clickbank Questions – Google Magic Formula – googlemagicformula?

    March 20th, 2010 No comments

Google Magic Formula. Making big money on clickbank. Has anyone read it? Is it new?

    More Here

    http://Click-on.to/Google-Magic-Formula

Best Answer: I went thru the 2 volumes of this product and here is my review:

    Volume I
    P21
Having a high quality product to promote and an effective sales page underpins online success. This is his advice. I heard this avice countless times.

    P23 – clickbank product research
He advised not to focus on these 2 factors : gravity and $/sale
According to the author, there is so much more to picking a winning product than simply relying on these two easily manipulated statistics
He recommends to promote products with grav<20

    P26-27
He recommended two affiliate programs with his affiliate links

    P28
The author wrote “There lies a secret to affiliate success …. diversity!” What a secret!!!!

    P29
The author again wrote “Is the merchant currently being promoted on Adwords for the product we want to target? If not, it’s a waste of your time to try and make it work.”. What if the product is very new but looks promising. What if the product is from an author known to produce high quality materials? Take his advice with a grain of salt.

Volume 1 – discusses basics up to page 42 of 49 pages

Moving on to page 43 I thought he finished his basics lessons
Page 43 – great tips according to him
it’s best to create ad groups that focus on a set of related keywords!
if you are decently knowledgeable of adwords and you are doing adwords campaigns, you should already know this.
don’t use superlatives in your text (like best, cheapest)
even without the above advice, you won’t be able to do it because google won’t just allow you to enter ad copy with superlatives

there is no magic formula in volume one and the author said the code is only half unscrambled

    The Magic Formula
    S = get STARTED
Sign up for your Adwords account

The author never discussed keyword research, demand, supply, etc. and went straight to landing pages, subscription pages, etc.

    T = Traffic
Getting people to see your ads using the best keywords, landing page, etc.

So much power is now yours!

Volume 2 reveals the A & R of the magic formula

P4 – It’s the A and R that increases your ROI boosts profitability, and explodes your bank account (isn’t these all mean the same, the author has the penchant to play with words)

P8 – the google magic formula is worth 50 times the price you just paid for it…period

A is for assessment. It is the A that really makes you money

    P9 – unscrambling the code
magic formula # 1 realize that google is a science. Google involves a touch of anthoropology, a splash of psychology, oodles of computer science and Information Technology, influences of engineering and an influx of mathematics and statistics
even mentioned chi-square formula to confuse the readers and hide the true shallowness of his concepts
A (assessment) only meant split testing the ads. nothing more and it took him more than 10 pages to discuss it.

Dynamic Keyword Insertion – is another secret
The world of Keyword to Headline Automation!
Is this another secret? What a loser!

The Google Magic Formula Bidding Philosopgy:
It is always better for your ads to be live and showing for all of your keywords all of the time at a lower position than to have your ads and keywords show in a higher position for only part of the day. —-looks good
start with a lower CPC and raise daily budget instead of cpc
Start to play at position 6 and gradually increase CPC
This seems to be the only advice I like. Probably it will work. Probably not.

    p33 – heatmap
nothing new here. circulated all around the net

    R – Repeat
Rinse and repeat. Heard this word zillion times before

    Other tips

Adwords Editor – favorite adwords tool
again lengthy discussion of Adwords Editor. This isn’t a secret

    P48 – Google Magic Formula Code # 23
Break down your Ad groups into smaller and more targeted Ad groups with keywords

Again, the Google Magic Formula is :
S – start (how can this be part of the formula when all adwords newbies has to start somewhere)
    T – traffic
    A – assessment
R – repeat (again as in S – start, how can this be part of the formula. rinse and repeat has been the motto of internet marketers since time immemorial)
