I believe they only handle with electronic goods such as ebooks and the problem with this is that a lot of junk is sold through clickbank. The next step is to bring traffic. You can create content on your website to get free search engine traffic. Another approach would be adding content to article directories (ie. Best Answer: you have to do a song and a dance but they will pay you. usually you have to submit your photo i.d. and then do a confirmation email they send to your home. there is other stuff but you usually have done that when its time to get paid. also if you click your own ads they will balk on everything when it comes to paying you. maybe your friend did that.. their terms are roughly the same as google and google pays. but even google will balk if they see srupid stuff with your profile like the same i.p address keeps clicking and not buying. stuff like that.

I am a student of the Internet. This is my first time ever building my own website and I have a few questions

Please understand that if the answers I receive are not simple to follow, I will not benefit from the time that was taken to provide them. Please assume nothing.

Here are my questions:

How do I take an ebook that I wrote, myself, and is on the hard drive of my computer and create a hyperlink to it on a subdomain page?

This ebook is not to be available for indexing in the search engines. How do I prevent it from being found on the internet unless it was purchased?

Also, how do I generate individual passwords for customers to access a page on the internet, that I am providing information on, that will require payment?

I need to be able to track potential abuse of my website in the case that a password is made public without authorization. How do I do this? Step by step?

In other words (I do not want to ask my questions the wrong way. Please understand)

I am offering an eproduct through a company called ‘Clickbank”. The way it works is I have a ‘pitch page’ (Where I sell my product) and a ‘thank you page’ (where customers that have paid for my product are directed)

On the thank you page I would like for customers to receive a personalized username and password to access the area that will have my ebook and some videos.

It’s important that the ebook and videos are not indexed in the search engines to be found accidentally.

How do I go about this in easy to understand, step by step directions?

Please understand that I am aware I am asking a lot to have these questions answered. I tried the tutorial section. I tried the Internet for answers first and I even tried the live chat.

No responses have been CLEAR and thorough thus far, therefore I turn to this solution.

Best Answer: you need to budget yourself so you can keep the site up for at least two weeks to get a feel for how it’s going to go in my opinion. You’re not going to see a lot of sales in your first eight hours no matter what. Good luck.

  Notice how I put the price there. Folks who don’t want to pay $29 won’t click it see? So it stops the lookie loos from just looking so they won’t click it..and hey thats good but the ones that click it you know they already know theres a fee.

  Now…your click through will be lower but the QUALITY of the clickthrough will be higher and better.

• Set up conversion tracking, and it will help you calculate your ROI. Choose the most relevant kewords to your product or service, because the main reasons that someone clicks on your website is either for educational purposes, or they want to buy something. So make sure your advertising specifically, otherwise you are paying for clicks for no reason. Believe it or not, 40% CTR is awesome.

  To be honest with you, I would cancel your AdWords account THIS second!

  Don’t spend another dime on it just yet.

  You see, without knowing what your “conversion rate” on your website is, you won’t know how much you can invest in advertising.

  Let me explain:

  A “conversion rate” is basically the percentage of people who BUY from your website divided by the amount of people who SEE your website.

  So if you have 100 people VISIT your website, and 3 people BUY from you, then you have a 3% conversion rate. (Which is a really decent conversion rate!)

  Before you spend another dime on advertising, find out if your product will sell.

• No. Go on line and just look at their products you can market. Do they look like the quality you want and can you make a profit?

  Call them if you have a number and ask about marketing. I’ll bet you have to do all the marketing. If they don’t have a phone number and address, etc. be careful.

  Check to see if they are a scam. Type in the owner’s name and scam in parentheses. Also do this for the company itself and any people they have on the management team.

  They may not be a scam, but are they set up so that you can make any real money with them?

After noticing the sale, I queried clickbanks payment method which i never really looked into when i signed up as I am sure many don’t!

Anyway, this was the reply I received from clickbank.com

This reply really shocked me. If I am understanding this correctly, if everyone I sell to chooses to pay by American Express, or any other of the many alternatives to Visa, Mastercard, or they pay via paypal and echeck etc, then I don’t get paid……….ever..Is this correct??

They say they do this to prevent affiliate fraud but why do they need to go to such extremes to prevent affiliate fraud? If the affiliate buys items and keeps them..so what the company made a sale right? But if the affiliate sells, then requests a refund…then yes that is sneaky BUT only if the affiliate got to keep the sales commission after the refund was made, which with clickbank they don’t! The affiliate has the refund deducted from their account…at least this is my understanding.

So why then all these weird ‘exclusions’ as to why you can’t be paid, or paid regularly.

So my question to you as an affiliate for clickbank, is do you ever get paid?

Best Answer: Well, Visa and Master-card are widely used cards. You will probably find a client eventually.

The fact that they want at least 5 different numbers (Or clients) is not to make sure you are doing it to get a discount. They could simply exclude you from the system. They have your details otherwise you will never get paid.

The biggest reason for doing so is to gain more clients.

Example:

Take 1000 affiliates. Most people signed up in whim. Only half the people will indeed try and sell an item. Then they find out they need to sell 5 items to get paid. Only 1% of these will actually go further and do it (Oh, and that 1% is a very optimistic estimate).

Wanna calculate: 1000 potential sales people, only half stays on.
Got 500 people left. All of them sell 1 item
500 Items SOLD
Only 1% will continue to sell the other 4,
5 people selling in total of 20 items.
520 items SOLD.
They paid only 5 people and each for 5 items.

They have sold 495 items, without paying a single person.

Of course, this company would rather have everyone selling a single item (perhaps 2, 3 or even 4) and then give up. Like you are doing (Or at least sound like you are doing) and they end up selling all products, without paying a single sales agent.

It’s called cutting costs. Drastic times brings the best up in some of us…
